A striking example of an American Lone Star (Star of Bethlehem) quilt, this piece dates to approximately 1930s–1950sand showcases the enduring beauty of diamond-pieced construction. Composed of carefully arranged 45° diamonds, the design radiates outward in a classic eight-pointed star, here rendered in a soft, luminous palette of butter yellow, peach, coral, and warm cream, creating a subtle ombré effect reminiscent of a setting sun. Likely machine pieced and hand quilted, the quilt reflects mid-20th-century domestic craftsmanship, when makers balanced efficiency with artistry using available cotton fabrics, often including feedsack or dress textiles. Its gentle wear, puckering, and nuanced color shifts speak to both its age and use, offering a timeless example of American quiltmaking tradition—at once graphic, warm, and quietly sophisticated.

The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.

Fit features slouchy shoulders and a generous drape.

As an example, I am 5'7 and wear the classic, while a petite will work best for those 5'4 and smaller :)

Please note that all of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabric reflects this. Our fabrics are sometimes older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
