Scrappy Irish Chain Quilt
American, circa 1950–1980
A charming interpretation of the traditional Irish Chain pattern, this vintage quilt features a lively assortment of floral prints, plaids, and stripes arranged in interlocking diagonal chains. Brilliant cobalt-blue squares punctuate the colorful patchwork, while generous expanses of soft ivory create a beautiful sense of balance. Hand-quilted and wonderfully textured, the piece reflects the resourcefulness and individual artistry of American quiltmaking. Its playful combination of color and pattern makes it a particularly spirited example of a beloved quilting tradition.
This quilt is thick, and has quite a bit of loft. The backing is a beautiful cream.
The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
Fit features slouchy shoulders and a generous drape.
As an example, I am 5'7 and wear the classic, while a petite will work best for those 5'4 and smaller :)
